It's my Dad's chainsaw and I was trying to help him but I'm an intermediate when it comes to small engines. Anyway, it does not start and the cord, when pulled, feels like insanely high compression on the engine and I really cannot get the cord to move a full draw. If you remove the plug, it naturally does not start BUT the pull cord glides normally. I removed the muffler but that did nothing. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Hello friends! I'm relatively new to the chainsaw world but not a stranger to small gasoline engines. I've had my ms250 for a year now, and all the sudden I'm having a bog/cut out at wide open throttle. Everything that I've seen on the internet suggests to start with the basics and replace the air filters, fuel filters and spark plug. I will in fact do that, but I'm wondering if anyone has other suggestions that I'm overlooking and also simple to do for a beginner.
